Attorney or salesperson, pick two

My nephew has been a lawyer for five years now and when we got together during Christmas I was able to ask him in detail “what was it like being a lawyer”. His response really shocked me. I work in an auto dealership as a salesperson. My nephew said his job was very similar to mine. The fact is, is that he had to realize to grow his law practice big time he had to learn how to sell and market himself. This meant he had to find new clients. But law firm marketing is not easy. Especially, for people who are accustomed to believe that most sales people are jerks. Having a law firm marketing plan turned him into a great salesperson and his practice into a real money maker.
