For years I worked at a major weekly publication. I made a lot of money, but I spent so little time at home that my life was always in chaos. My wife and I hardly knew each other and I swear I missed my kids growing up. One day, after my editor had given me a thorough chewing out, I decided to take my job home and keep it there. I quit working for someone else and decided that I would work from home for myself. I became a freelance writer and have never been happier.
