Best Buy to sell the iPhone 3G
Earlier today, Best Buy president, Shawn Score announced that Best Buy will begin distributing the iPhone 3G through 970 of its stores, and 16 of its “Best Buy Mobile” outlets, beginning September 7, 2008.
“We had a lot of work to do, obviously, to get in a position where Apple and AT&T would feel good about Best Buy Mobile carrying it, and that’s what we’ve done in the last 18 months,” said Shawn Score, president of Best Buy Mobile.
As you may already be aware, Best Buy currently sells many popular Apple products, including the iPod, iMac, and iPod Touch. Following this trend, Best Buy’s next logical step was to make a deal with Apple regarding the iPhone 3G. iPhone News
You may recall back in June when we caught wind of a rumor that Best Buy and RadioShack would soon begin distributing the iPhone 3G. Well, half of that rumor turns out to be true! Does this mean that RadioShack might follow in Best Buy’s footsteps and attempt to sign a deal with Apple? Only time will tell.
I can tell you one thing though, with Best Buy backing the iPhone 3G, the 3G’s future looks incredibly promising (not that it wasn’t already!)
