Vista Has Junk Too
I’ll bet you didn’t know that the Windows Vista registry is directly responsible for several computer problems. The registry in your computer is very import, and like files, it’s prone to damage and clutter.
If you have any of the following problems, this may indicate problems with the registry:
Errors recurring regularlyYour computer freezesYour computer crashesYou get a “blue screen”Operates slowly or sluggishlyTakes a long time to bootTakes a long time to shut down
The registry in Windows Vist is basically the same as they other versions of Windows operating systems. It is the location of important settings files that tell Windows how to run your hardware and software. The operating system constantly reads these files and if there are corrupt or obsolete entries it will get sluggish when it’s trying to make sense of them.
The way it becomes cluttered is related to several different factors. The most common way however, is incomplete un-installation of software and hardware components. When you run an un-installer, it is typically supposed to remove all traces of the program. This usually does not happen, however. There are usually files left over. This is especially true in the registry because it’s so dynamic.
Despite the fact that the registry is a complicated structure, it is in fact very easy to clean out. You can do this using a Vista Registry Cleaner, and it generally only takes a couple of minutes to complete. The software will allow you to scan for, and remove remnants of removed programs, and corrupt files with a click of the mouse.
Using a cleaning utility is perfectly safe for your computer, HOWEVER, as in anything else, you always want to make sure that you make a backup of your computer as a fail safe. Most of these software products will allow you to create a backup before it proceeds to the task at hand.
